Keepin’ It Low Key

Covid has made everyone’s life hard to say the least. The Glucks love to travel and had a cruise to the Bahamas planned for January. With Omicron looming and every ship reporting cases we decided to PIVOT (Ross yelling) and push it to December.

In order to not have to change our flight into Miami and still try to salvage some sort of vacation we decided to see the Florida Keys! Cue Kokomo song.

The PEA (Personal Executive Assistant) AKA Ginger AKA Mom quickly did her research and found a resort style Courtyard Marriott in Marathon. I highly recommend it. The views, the location, the food, the amenities were awesome.

Now of course like any good beer nerd I started searching for nearby breweries which are few and far between in this area. When we decided to go to Islamorada which was only 45 minutes away and to my surprise there was a brewery there!

Islamorada Brewery & Distillery is a local gem. It’s rustic appeal and no frills decor made me feel like I was at my neighborhood watering hole. Not to say it wasn’t nice because it was.

The best part you ask? There is something for everyone. If you have people that aren’t “beer people” never fear because Ginger had “the best key lime martini w/graham cracker crust of my life.” I had a sip, delicious.

John AKA Dad and I of course had to get flights to get a feel for their beer. We tried everything from Ales to Stouts. Each one had great body and flavoring. There are tons to choose from and flight options for beer, liquor and cocktails.

So if you happen to be in Islamorada and need to get your beer fix stop in. It’s worth it. And every restaurant we went to had at least one of their delicious beers on draft.

Stay Thirsty.
